With only a two week turnaround since our last tasting, we ditched the normal format in favor of bringing together a group of interesting wines from many appellations. We started with an extremely fine rosé Champagne to prep our palates, and then the heart of the tasting was a comparison of three Cabernet Sauvignon
Just in time for year-end celebrations, we gathered six brown-bagged and numbered bottles of bubbly from around the world. The challenge here was to be able to identify the origin of the bottles blind, as well as vote for quality. The winner was a complex, attention-grabbing Champagne that received top votes from every taster.
No structured tasting this month, but we did have a three-bottle sampling of a white, rosé, and red wine from the Côtes Catalanes, an area of France bordering Spain, which is also an upcoming vacation spot for Ali & Andy.
